Non-charitable Not-For-Profit organisations include many sporting clubs, community service organisations, child-care centres and professional associations.
Non-charitable NFP organisations with an active Australian business number (ABN) need to lodge an annual NFP self-review return with the ATO to confirm their eligibility to self-assess as income tax exempt.
NFP self-review returns are usually due by 31 October each year, however the ATO is providing more time to lodge for the 2023–24 financial year. The lodgement has been extended to 31 March 2025.
This return includes 3 sections and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
The return can be lodged with the ATO via either:
- Online Services for Business or
- ATO automated phone service - 13 72 26.
The ATO has provided a guide to assist with the completion of the return.
Cambrian Hill Accounting can assist with lodgement of this form on your behalf as a registered tax agent.
